About Jim
Built by hand. Made to be remembered.
Hi! I’m Jim, illustrator, graphic designer, and owner of Hollander Creative. I earned my BFA in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I’ve spent the past 25 years creating artwork primarily for the screen print, resort apparel, and destination retail industries.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a Creative Director, freelance Design Director, illustrator, and designer, developing artwork and apparel programs for zoos, theme parks, museums, national parks, surf shops, and attractions all over the country.
Through partnerships with design houses across the U.S., my work has appeared in gift shops and retail programs for a pretty wide range of destinations. That includes museums and landmarks such as NASA, the American Museum of Natural History, The Alamo, Henry Ford Museum, Titanic Museum, and the Willie Nelson and Friends Museum; attractions and theme parks including Dollywood, Legoland, Silver Dollar City, Gatorland, AirVenture, and B.B. King’s Blues Club; and zoos and aquariums such as Shedd Aquarium, Georgia Aquarium, John Ball Zoo, and ZooTampa.
I’ve also created work for destinations and brands including Ron Jon Surf Shop, Ole Smoky Moonshine, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Gettysburg National Military Park — along with many others over the years.
After 25 years, I still love the same part of the job: starting with a rough idea—sometimes very rough—and turning it into something people actually want to wear, buy, or take home as a reminder of a great place or experience.
Hollander Creative brings that experience to each project with a focus on strong ideas, thoughtful design, and a collaborative process. My goal is to create distinctive, well-crafted artwork that connects with its audience and helps each client bring their vision to life.
If you have a project in mind, I’d love to hear about it. Whether you’re starting with a fully formed concept or just the beginnings of an idea, I’d like to help you create something memorable.
